Goin on a bear hunt

Ok, here I am ! It has been a really fun week, and not much time for blogging! We got here to Kendall's on Monday evening. Mary had baseball cupcakes for Jesaiah's birthday. Tuesday morning Kendall decided to take us to Copper Falls to hike. It is about 35 minutes away, and right on the Canadian border. When we were pulling in the park, I started seeing several signs for Grizzly bear habitat. I instantly started to feel panicky inside. I looked over at my husband with a VERY shocked look on my face! "Are you serious?!" I asked. He assured me that I was overreacting a bit. So we continued the rest of the drive up the mountain with me staring at him with my mouth open in disbelief, and Arlyn laughing and making fun of my panic. I could not really comprehend why in the world we would be taking 11 children hiking with grizzly and black bears. However, in spite of my outward disdain for the idea, inside I was kind of laughing at my drama. I was slightly exagerating and enjoying the role of fluffy female! When we pulled up to the trail head, Kendall rolled down his window and announced that they did not have a gun or bear spray. I really thought that was some sort of ploy to alarm me, and so we all just laughed. Then we realized he was actually serious. At this point, I lost all pretense! It was no longer funny! If my brother felt the need for a gun and bear spray, we were in bad trouble!! So, needless to say, Mary and I used our womanly charm to convince them that cubbing season was not a good time to take us out in the woods unarmed!( getting ready to hit the road, so i will publish this so I don't lose it)(. .. . . to be continued
