My favorite mother's day!

Happy mother's day to all ! Yesterday we spent most of the day in Morro Bay. We enjoyed the beautiful beach and the gorgeous weather! The large rock in the pictures is actually a volcano that erupted and then the lava hardened. Or so said one of the locals. The children had so much fun running around on the beach.  I got these beautiful handpainted stones from my girls for mother's day! And this pinecone from Elijah! We tried to have someone take a family picture, but it looks like he manAged to cut some out of the picture ! Nice! There were squirrels on the rocks. We fed them peanuts and they crawled all over the children. The girls found a long piece of seaweed and used it to jump rope! After we had transformed into a family of lobsters, we headed back to the house to do a little laundry. We drove on to Monterey last night and went to asilomar beach. It was very cold and windy so we didn't stay long ! We hit up a McDonald's for supper , much to the children's delight! 9 orders of heart attack sticks, 8 mystery meat patties, and a six piece pink slime . . . .ya, that oughta do it. No, wait. . . .could you throw in a couple cups of smoked Coffee? Thanks so much. And Father, please turn these fries into carrot sticks on the way down?! We traveled north on 1 for a couple hours, and then decided to take 101 since we couldn't see the coast in the dark anyway! Map quest apparently doesn't figure in 8 children! We seemed to go 3 hours forward and 2 back! Although we would HIGHLY recommend taking 1 all the way up the California coast. Gorgeous! Winding around the mountains overlooking the ocean. Can't get much better than that! The children and hubby were all staking claim to plots of land that they wanted to live on!
